Mars in the desert:

Along I-10 west of Blythe, California

Mars at the beach:

The calm air of the ocean/continent interface provided excellent seeing for a high magnification examination of Mars, as represented by this drawing done at the time of the observation.
Schwaar 'scope with a 4.8 mm Nagler and 2X barlow (312X) and 12 mm Plossl (62X) and no filter.

Pleades and Hyades:

These two open clusters are in constant competition for your eye. Pleades shine brighter and bluer, while their half-sisters, the redder Hyades feature Aldebaran, the birghtest star in Taurus. It can't be missed it's a bright red dot.
Five second exposure at ISO 1600 with a 60mm lens at f/5/6.
