Wild and crazy Alaskan photographer Phil Ackley posted to his blog when I wasn't looking.
I can only dream of shooting like this consummate filmist.
I've updated the candidate's face roll to include pictures of Steve Knapp and blogger Mark Valdez.
I've also updated The Ultimate California Gubernatorial Recall Candidate List to show the desire of candidates Simon and Ueberoth to withdraw. They, of course, want to 'withdraw' at the behest of the Republican party, so that Arnold will get all of the conservative votes. (Does the RNC actually ask candidates to break promises to the citizenry like the one the candidates have pledged, not to withdraw?)
Tom McClintock, the full fledged conservative candidate refuses to bow to the Republican pressure, and remains in the contest as Schwarzenegger's spoiler. How come Arnold hasn't had Tom over for dinner and given him a bunch of money to quit?
"Ah vill fight heem to be President of Collie-fornia."
I also see that Darryl Issa, the guy who bought you brought you the recall in the first place, says that if Tom McClintock doesn't withdraw the faithful should vote NO on the recall. What the f---!
Does he hate the idea of governor Bustamante worse than he hates Davis? Why is that? Davis is very effective in delivering Democratic votes. Would Busty be able to do the same. So, uh, is this whole recall about electoral college votes?
I'm listening to Wesley Willis (not the Star Trek guy) on GRRL radio (who seem to have fixed their Stalling-in-iTunes problem) singing Solid State.
Balanced rocks:
I saw these little stacks of rounded stones all over the rocks at Cardiff beach last Sunday. The balance was evident in the placement, form and even color. A surfer kid named Brian was crawling around on the rocks to put them together:
The web has many examples of rock balancing art, but none that I found paid as much attention to the completeness as did these.
As the sun set, the forces of entropy sent the tiny, fragile sculptures back to the sea:
You know, the recall's back on.
Apparently, votes don't really count, they only have statistical significance.
