First Circuit Court nullifies oil workers' firings. The First Circuit Administrative Court voided today the Labor Ministry decision that said that oil workers were not protected by their union. This decision voids all oil firings and supposedly implies all unionized oil workers have to be hired back. This implies roughly 16,000 of the 18,000 would have to be hired back. The Court's decision was unanimous. This Court is just below the Supreme Court and is considered to be the most reputable Court in the country even above that of the Supreme Court. [The Devil's Excrement]
This is interesting... This week must have been really depressing for President Chavez... I'm glad...

Court denies Mailblocks' injunction request. A judge denies a request for a preliminary injunction by Mailblocks, an antispam software company that claims rival Spam Arrest is violating its patented technology. [CNET News.com]
Is this the beginning of the end for Mailblocks? They have terrible customer service, as I have reported earlier, suing their competition away was their only shot...

Who really owns Unix?. Allen Brown, CEO of The Open Group, explains that his organization owns the Unix trademark and that the SCO Group holds the rights only to the OS source code. [CNET News.com]
We do! or at least, we should, because we build it. Corporations have a sick attitude towards the commons, they are so afraid of failure, they prefer to shot themselves in the foot (shooting everybody around them). This is the reason NT penetrated so far into the Unix market, the market was just a infighting mess. instead of competition you get nonsense and lawsuits. The Open Group should remember this. Apple is the largest Unix suplier in the World! (Yes, it is). Who do you think people are going to believe? Would you rather destroy Unix? Go Ahead, make Micro$oft day! I've got stock, I'll win anyway...
