Sun seeks to capitalize on SCO suit. Sun Microsystems launches an ad campaign highlighting IBM's licensing dispute with SCO Group and encouraging its rival's customers to switch to Sun's computing platform. [CNET News.com]

Ok. Is there someone informed that can explain to me the difference between Sun's and IBM's Unix licences? They seem to have gotten them around the same time (mid-eighties). The first difference you can see is that IBM has more than one (mostly through acquisition... Can SCO pick and choose which one to sue? Can IBM pick and choose which one they?

iTunes -- the "i" doesn't stand for innovation

This piece argues that albums are dead because the iTunes Music Store sell singles. What a crap! About half of the songs sold are bought by album... You can sell album only (or per song only). But does the album merit saving? By handpicking the examples you can get a lot of good albums (the piece mentions Lateralus by Tool, for example), but the reality of music today is that most of the artists are one hit or few hits wonders without an artist vision or concept... Buying Shakira on a per song basis won't preclude buying the whole Tool album. You just have the choice of getting what you like.
