Tom Yager explains how Apple cooked its performance test for the new G5 computers. [Scripting News]
This is an excellent example of my earlier post... He doesn't show Apple cooked anything, By his argument Apple just uncooked the Intel cooking of results. To claim that a Vanilla GNU/gcc compiler from RedHat is not severely optimized for a Pentium is just bull. The real world tests looked impressive, except They were not real world tests (clue: Real world tests are not performed on stage). The funny thing is that people can't wait, they have to claim their prejudice as loud as they can... That's how de-fragmenting became standar... Why not Wait until you get a hold of the machine, then talk?
