"Just like you kill us, we will kill you," he said.
Hey Bin: It's easy to be angry. But hold a baby in your arms once. Even if you are angry, can you justify killing a baby? We all started that way. You, too. Your father was a baby once. Everyone you've loved or hated.
There are plenty of things in this world that need to change. But a violent backlash doesn't always help. I still say non-violence can work at least as well as violence, probably much better. Imagine a Ghandi of Palestine. The Arabs would have been free long ago.
Imagine a message of peace, prosperity, and tolerance -- but also non-violent insistance on change -- spreading from mosque to mosque. What gang of thieves could hold power? You could sweep away the corruption.
You've certainly created a monster in Bush. He will slaughter your fellows, and the survivors will fight harder. But creating suffering around the world is no guarantee of success. The bravest of the brave would have the patience and heart to stand against oppression with peace and righteousness. It is also no guarantee of success, but it feeds the souls who follow, rather than destroying everyone.
I say you must overcome your personal pain and lead as if every person on the planet is your most beloved child.

American and Israeli military officers should consider the risk of standing trial for crimes against humanity. There is no statute of limitations. Regimes change. If you nuke Iraq, there may come a time when the world doesn't accept your excuses for why you had to do it. You could end your live in a prison. Sometimes "just following orders" is good enough, but sometimes it isn't. Nuking the oppressed citizens -- even the drafted teen-age boys -- may be a case where "following orders" is no defense.

The Wall Street Journal on Rehnquist's daughter's accomplishments -- since being installed by the man her daddy installed:
'The new inspector general quickly put her stamp on the office, easing antifraud measures and instead emphasizing voluntary compliance. She scaled back the use of "corporate integrity agreements," in which health-care companies found to have defrauded the government acquiesce to strict reporting conditions, saying she was "concerned about [their] financial impact" on providers.'
Just another Republican Corporate Criminal taking a turn in government before going on to the big reward at a Republican Corporate Criminal enterprise.
"They're cleaning out people that were doing their job of exposing things," Mr. Grassley says.
Oh, Chuck! Watch out for the long knives!
