"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

Isn't it amazing. The news isn't that Israeli snipers murdered a UN worker and others. The story is that the Republican Corporate Media buried the story, and falsely reported what they did let out.

Rough times for democracy when the press is in bed with the state terrorists.

The Invisible Death of Iain Hook [commondreams.org]: "The murder of Butterlys 10-year-old friend was not even mentioned in the Washington Post article. That is understandable. Such a routine daily happening is hardly news. But you would think that the murder of a UN official, protested vehemently by his U.N. colleagues, would get headlines. It didn't."

Mary Landrieu should stay-the-heck out of small airplanes.

[9:46:34 AM]
Again, who needs satire? Bush appoints Kissinger to head the 9/11 commission? The only person better qualified would be if Goering showed up alive and rejuvenated after all these years on the hacienda.

[9:44:35 AM]
The last thing the Democrats need is a bunch of numbskulls fighting each other for the nomination to run for president. The person to get the nomination should be the person who wins the most crucial battles against the Bush gang. It's not like there's a shortage of battles. Plenty to go around. Anybody who puts his/her own campaign prospects ahead of the battles should be slapped down and run out of town. Terry. Tom. Dick. Al. Joe. John. John. Hilary.
