News - Patricia Cornwell, one of Jennifer's favorite authors, has a new book
that identifies Jack the Ripper:

Comment -- Cornwell is the author of the best-selling Kay Scarpetta novels
about an intrepid medical examiner who solves gruesome serial killings. This
article says Cornwell, who grew up in foster homes, now gets $9 million
advances for each new Scarpetta book.
Anyway, she now has a non-fiction book that fingers Impressionist painter
Walter Richard Sickert, a friend of French painter Degas. Jennifer and I
last week saw the Degas exhibit at the Detroit Institute of Art. Degas
painted pictures of young girl ballerinas. In fact, Jennifer asked me "did
Degas have a thing for young girls?" And now, it appears that Degas was
friends with a serial killer of young women. Eerie.
News - Tornadoes kill 31 on Sunday:

Comment - Man, where did these come from in the middle of November? Just
goes to show you that tornadoes really can occur any time of the year.
