News -- Mountain lions spread eastward, drawn by deer. Have been confirmed
in the U.P.: http://www.nytimes.com/2002/11/12/science/life/12COUG.html
Comment -- This article says an average of four people are killed each year
by mountain lions. There may be more mountain lions now than there were
before Europeans came to America.
Lions may be one way to control the deer overpopulation. Of course, if they
start eating more of us, that could be a slight drawback.
