News -- Wrist PDA-Palm: http://www.infosync.no/news/2002/n/2635.html
Comment - Okay, this is a little geeky even for me. There have been other
wristwatch organizers, but this is the first one that runs the Palm
operating system.
News - New York Times article about impact of skyrocketing health insurance
costs hitting the middle class:
http://www.nytimes.com/2002/11/25/national/25INSU.html
Comment - It's certainly a problem we're very familiar with at SBAM. Our
members are really suffering.
I wish the article had pointed out that one of the big problems is that you
can't purchase bare bones, high-deductible inexpensive health insurance
coverage. In Michigan, it's either an expensive, covers-everything policy or
nothing at all.
For example, consider a young couple that's healthy and not planning to have
kids. Maybe they'd like to have the option to pay less for health insurance
coverage and put some of that money into buying a new home?
Or, someone who gets laid off (as noted in this article). It would be better
for them to have at least some catastrophic coverage rather than none at
all, right?
