News - I can't believe it...I finally got some clear skies last night! First
time in about three months.
Comment - It's been a long, cold and cloudy winter. But last night from the
driveway I got some exceptional views of Jupiter, Saturn and M42. While
looking at Jupiter, I though I kept glimpsing a little dark spot on the
planet. Later I read on the Internet that one of Jupiter's moon's was
transiting Jupiter. That is, the moon was moving between Earth and Jupiter,
and the shadow of the moon was visible on Jupiter's cloud tops. Neat! You
can learn more about this at

News - Good column in the New York Times on the "yes-but" anti-war crowd:

Comment - William Safire writes about how President Bush "is half-supported,
half-obstructed by a new parade of politicians and pundits who applaud the
goal but deplore the means necessary to achieve it."
News - If you have a broadband connection (Dave and Brandon), you should
check out this video of interviews with anti-war protestors:

Comment - This is hilarious. A young guy in Washington, D.C., (a
Republican who supports the war, so this is obviously biased) stops
protestors and asks them questions, like "if you oppose the war, then what
do you think should be done about Iraq?". Not surprisingly, the people he
talks to are morons. But they are pretty funny.
By the way, I've been there, done that, because I remember the anti-Vietnam
protests of the early 70s when I was at MSU. At least then, guys could
honestly say "I oppose the war because I don't see any reason for me to get
drafted and then get shot in a rice paddy." But no one is getting drafted
now.
