Good article in today's NY Times on Global Warming's effect on Alaska (link requires free registration)
With the average temperature rising seven degrees over the past 30 years, Alaskans are facing sagging roads, shoreline erosion and dying forests.
There are some (the Bush administration for example) that blindly deny the existence of Global Warming. They are dangerous idiots. I am reminded of last summer's California energy crisis - the Bush Administration in general and Dick Cheney specifically, stated that conservation was not a viable option. Well guess what? Those Californians conserved and managed to make it through the energy crisis. Time for the US to get with it on Global Warming.
