I just finished up with this year's round of The State of the Union Drinking Game. I had such a good time last year that I had to play again this year. Although, I don't actually drink - I'd be a dead person if I did.
Anyhoo, my drink/point total was 128!!!!
The high point events were:
- Used the phrase "prescription drugs" - 10 points.
- Announced a new program - 12 points.
- Gets a standing ovation from only HALF of Congress - 16 points.
Seriously, I thought his speech delivery was quite good - he has certainly improved. He definitely hit his stride about a quarter of the way into the speech.
However, I think Bush is vulnerable on several fronts if the Demos just get on a rock solid message and hammer away at it. For example, Bush's defense of the Patriot Act was pretty amazing - there is a sizeable portion of his Republican base that are appalled by the Act.
