Well, I've waited ten days to write about this - I wanted to make sure I wasn't prematurely counting my chickens. But I think we're in the clear now.
So, since I swapped out our cable modem ten days ago, our broadband connection has been humming right along. No blips or burps.
I'm feeling like a bit of a technical stud - it was my idea to swap out the cable modem. I finally decided that it may not be a plant issue after all - it was just too flakey to be a plant issue. Which is saying quite a bit - I've had some pretty amazing experiences with bad cable. But, all at once, the problem just felt like it was related to the cable modem itself...
Life is very good on the broadband front. Now if I could just decide what to do on the laptop front....
