I think I finally cleared the flu hurdle this afternoon. I staggered into work this morning - still feeling beyond crappy. I stagged back home at Noon to let Clem out so she could attend to her afternoon doggly duties. However, Clemmie was not going to be placated with a mere foray into the back yard. She insisted on going for a walk. So, we headed out into a very brisk north wind that put the chill factor down close to zero. But amazingly, by the time we returned twenty minutes later, I was already feeling a tad better.
Tonight is the first night in almost a week that I'm not running a temperature.
Clem takes full credit for my miraculous improvement.

Friday night, the Ski Boy and I attended a delightful dinner party at Bob and Peg's. Peg is a gourmet chef, so the food as always was spectacular. And the company of course was wonderful.
But, the real showstoppers - literally, were Woof E. (Bob and Peg's four month old Bouvier puppy) and Orca (Greg and Monica's five month old black and white Portugese Water Dog puppy). Woof E. and Orca were a constant blur of high speed motion from the moment we arrived until we left 3 1/2 hours later. They never stopped. They rolled from one end of the room to the other with occasional water breaks and subsequent outdoor potty breaks.
Clemmie couldn't have possibly been that active as a puppy. At least, I don't think I remember anything like that.
I am convinced that those two puppies and my sedate elderly Clementine are completely different species.
But Woof E. and Orca sure were cute!
