Yesterday, while Mom and I were out on our little geocaching expedition, we bumped into (fortunately not literally) five moose within the space of about a fifty yards. Outside of the rutting season, a moose clumping of that number in such a small space is highly unusual. Up at Powerlines Pass during rutting season, I've seen up to forty moose within about a 1/4 mile radius.
But yesterday's clumpage was quite unusual for springtime. Fortunately, our moose were city moose - mellow and totally unfazed by us. So we were able to make our way past without any issues.
I took pictures of four of the five moose. These moose are somewhat smallish models - yearling bulls and a few cows. But trust me, these are pictures of different moose - it's not the same moose in four different poses.
