It's been a fun couple of days. Yesterday, I worked at our Smith Tower offices, took a long geocaching lunch at the Space Needle with Scott and Arthur, and then the Ski Boy and I took Jim and his wife Lisa to the baseball game where we watched the Mariners(!) blow out the Red Sox.
Today featured more geocaching, shopping, lunch at Cafe Campangna (Croques!), dinner with friends, and more baseball. Although, I didn't go to tonight's game - I had some work I needed to get done. Sigh - no rest for the wicked.
Yesterday's Space Needle geocaching expedition was a blast - we took the monorail from downtown Seattle to Seattle Center - home of the Space Needle. We then made our way to ground zero for Under the Needle - a geocache placed by none other than Scott.
Unfortunately, ground zero - a bench, was occupied by a family on an outing to the big fountain. Actually occupied is a bit of understatment - the family was totally ensconced. And they gave no indication that they were going to leave anytime soon.
So we waited. And waited. And waited some more. We hovered. We stared. All to no avail. I was thinking that we might have to just give up. But Scott said that we might want to wait until the top of the hour - sometimes folks plan outings to end on the hour. So we waited for about five more minutes and lo and behold, they started to pack up. It took them another ten minutes to actually get moving but they finally left. We immediately swooped in and snagged the cache!!!!
Here's Scott - discreetly hovering.
The departing family is the background.

Arthur and I with the incredibly small cache
and a certain Seattle landmark in the background.
