Ooooh boy - it is without a doubt completely and totally winter. The only thing missing is about a foot of snow. As I type, it's six degrees above zero with a brisk north wind. We had a few inches of snow this morning, but the high pressure system that's been parked over us for the past several days, refused to budge. So, the snow accumumulation was pretty pathetic - that high pressure system just body checked the low right back where it came from.

The low temperatures and wind are definitely the conversation topic. It's actually kind of fun!

This evening, Peter and I attended an after concert reception at a private home for the extraordinary Chinese pianist Sa Chen. The home's entry way was a classic Alaska tableau - coats and boots everywhere. It is definitely winter!
