It doesn't get much better on the Thanksgiving front than today! It's been snowing since last night - we have over a foot of snow on the ground. It's postcard perfect - over the snow and through the woods!!!
We had a staggeringly good Thanksgiving dinner with friends - the food was outstanding and the companionship was warm and delightfully funny!!!!
Tige had a blast on his first Thanksgiving with us. He went running with the gang this morning, kept close watch on me while I made two pumpkin pies, and then we went on his first ever skijoring outing!!!! A packed day indeed.
Tige had a bit of difficulty grasping the whole skijoring thing. First of all, he thought the harness was a bit strange (it also was a bit small). Then this whole business of pulling - when for his entire life, he's been told "No Pull". But whenever, we were passed by a skier or he saw someone up ahead, he'd start to trot and then run. The trick to teaching a dog to skijor is to have someone in front of you that the dog wants to catch. So, I'll need to recruit some of my skiing friends to help us out. But, if we can get Tige to grasp the art of pulling, he'll be a rocket dog!
Here are some pictures from Tige's Big Day:
Tige and Peter after their morning run. Tige wants you to know that he's comfortable enough in his manhood that wearing Clem's hand-me-down hot pink booties doesn't faze him the least.

Tige and Peter lounging around and watching football.

Me and Tige headed off on our little skijoring adventure.

Tige in action! Notice that the line is tight! A good thing!
