Tyge has had an exuberent week and my head is paying for it. Last Thursday, he and I went for a walk. A neighbor was coming up the hill and their little Australian Cattle Dog was off lead. So, I took Tyge up on top of snowbank. I wanted to make sure we gave the little dog plenty of room to go by. All was well and good until Tyge decided that he wanted to check out the little guy - he jerked me off the snowbank and down on to the road. I landed on my left shoulder and the left side of my face. Definitely a scrape happening there. We've now switched Tyge to a pinch collar - no more face scrapes for this kid.

Last night, Tyge and I were goofing around on the floor when he popped his giant bony head straight up into my right jaw. I just keeled over - I didn't pass out but I did see stars. I've had a headache all day.

I may need to start wearing a football helmet.

I'll tell you what - the Internet has to be the coolest thing ever!

For the past week, we've all been visiting the Alaska Volcano Observatory's Augustine site several times a day. We check out the web cam and the up to the minute seismigraph readings. We now all speak knowledgeably about the latest readings and can see for ourselves whether an eruption has occured. Late yesterday afternoon, it was quite funny - at 4:50 PM I shut down my computer and then called Peter before I left work. I mentioned that the current webcam shot was gorgeous - white steam lit up pink and red with the setting sun. Peter went out to the webcam site and saw a very different picture - almost completely gray and black with one small bit of blue. We then checked out the seismigraph and sure enough, at 4:45 PM there was a great big blotch on the graph readout. Another eruption!!!!!

How fun is that???? And all made possible through the Internet!!!!!
