Oooh - today is Mozart's 250th Birthday. Celebrations are underway world wide.

I particularly like Google's little homage to Wolfgang:

Last Sunday was snowy and relatively balmy - the high was 23 degrees which is bikini weather compared to the current temperature of 8 below. Anyhoo, I took advantage of the warm weather and did my first Geocaching by Skis expedition. There are several caches out at APU and APU has some great ski trails - so caches and ski trails made for an irresistable combination.

I had a great time and made the most interesting discovery: while geocaching, one can get disoriented much quicker via skis than on foot. Plus using a GPS while trying to ski is also very tricky. I'm all for someone inventing a heads-up GPS display that would work with my glasses!

At the APU travel bug cache, I met three fellow cachers, powmia, recray, and Knappling. Meeting Knappling was an extra hoot - he's the son of a good high school friend of mine. It is so nifty to meet the jr. high/high school kids of my high school buddies.

powmia, Knappling, and recray - look at all the snow!!!! And doesn't this trio remind you of Robert Duvall, Michael Caine, and Haley Joel Osment in Secondhand Lions?
