When it comes to puzzle caches, Seattle is ground zero. However, the puzzle caches are usually beyond the pale - very very difficult to figure out. However, the Seattle puzzle fiends threw us simple non-puzzly folks a bone: Alas! "Alas" was a simple, albiet large, word find. After all the words were circled, the coordinates and hint revealed themselves. At last, a puzzle that I was able to complete!!!!

So, I solved the puzzle last night and then today during lunch, hoofed the one and a half miles up to Belltown where the cache was located. A very spiffy hide in a rock garden. And the container is a play on the very famous:

Alas poor Yorick. I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy.

And by the way, the above quote is correct. The oft quoted "Alas poor Yorick, I knew him well" is incorrect. I did not know this until I did the puzzle and Susannah confirmed for me that "Horatio" is the correct version.

Here I am with poor Yorick!

It is impossible to understate how excited Seattle is about this Sunday's upcomming NFC Championship Game with the Carolina Panthers. It is the topic of conversation.

I'm scheduled to fly out tomorrow night, but if a certain volcano erupts and I get stranded in Seattle, I will definitely be scoring a ticket to the game!
