I arrived in Seattle early this evening and I have to say that I may need a snorkle. The weather is absolutely crummy. And evidently it's been this way for 27 days minus yesterday (it didn't rain yesterday).
And it's not just raining, it's pouring. It is total Ark weather. And to think this is day 28 (well day 1, if you insist upon starting over like the National Weather Service).
I am such an umbrella rookie - even managing my umbie over the short five block walk to dinner was a challenge. The wind just grabs the umbrella and avoiding a Mary Poppins is a real challenge. I did figure out a few basic umbie handling techniques - when walking into the wind, tip the umbrella forward so that the wind can't get up and under it. When waiting at an intersection for the light to change, nestle up against a big office building out of the wind. Then when the light changes, make the move. Tomorrow morning's ten block walk to the office should be entertaining.
