Well, most of the ice has vamoosed from Lagoon. However, there is a significant chunk in the southwest corner. So, it's kind of dicey. But, since I'm the judge, I've made the following decisions:
- Everyone who selected May 3rd is hereby declared a winner. Our May 3rd winners are:
- Gordon - he's entered all 5 years and this his first win!
- Da Ski Boy - a win for the home team!
- BJ - she wins her very first time out!
- Everyone who selected May 4th is also declared a winner. Fortunately, only one person selected May 4th:
It was a great contest this year! A big thanks to everyone who entered!
In keeping with our somewhat ambiguous ice out date, here are two pictures. One with ice and one without.
With ice.

Without ice.

Tyge and I just returned from our morning constitutional. There is still a broad ice flow in the middle of the Lagoon. But it's completely surrounded by huge open expanses of Lagoon water. And, there's not a cloud in the sky - it's a bright clear morning. Probability is high that today will be the day that the ice goes out.
The Ski Boy is talking about calling Gordon. Peter thinks that he and Gordon should get out there in canoes this morning and take an ice ax to the rest of the ice. My thought is that the ice is so fragile that all that Peter and Gordon would need to do is a little canoe herding and scootch that ice right on down to the spillway.
