As I type, in my wonderful hotel room, horns are honking wildly outside the window. The Buffalo Sabres beat the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup semi-finals. All of Buffalo is ecstatic.
Susannah, Jim, and I watched the first period of the game in a neighborhood bar. What a total blast. New York fans are just so passionate. We had a great time!
All in all, I have to say that our entire team that was down here on this trip, loved Buffalo. What a great town - it's just starting to come back, so things are little rough around the edges. But it is just a wonderful place.
And omigod, the architecture. It is amazing - I have never seen so many tremendous buildings in such a small town. The architecture is world class. The churches - there must be 100 churchs - all of which are these incredible stone cathedral-like structures. Total jaw droppers.
We took a walk around our neck of the woods this evening (that was the walk that ended up at the bar). Here's a glimpse of what we saw:
Me and the Buffalo:

A Frank Lloyd Wright house. Buffalo was Wright's home town, so there are lots of examples of his work sprinkled throughout town.

The Mansion. Our hotel - and appropriately named.

Our local neighborhood church spire.
