U.S.: White House Defends Bush's 25-Day Summer Getaway. 16:44 ET - Reuters [NewsBlip.com]

Sometimes I can’t figure out if the White House is really, really stupid or if they think we’re all really, really stupid. Maybe a bit of both.

Dim Son’s designated liar, Ari Fleischer, defends his idiot boss skipping town for a month long vacation in the middle of the worst economic crisis in decades, a failing by the day war on terror and daily revelations of corporate malfeasance, some of it by Bush and Cheney themselves, by comparing the Smirking Chimp’s vacation – yes, he finally used the word after months of various stupid euphemisms and weird contortions to avoid the “V” word - to the Congressional recess.

HELLO? Earth to Ari, come in Ari. Look, you stupid, lying fuck, Congress represents districts. The recess is not, repeat a vacation. It is, in point of fact, a chance for Congressmen to go back to their districts and listen to their constituency.

I can see how this concept would be foreign to the Bush junta. They don’t listen to anyone – even their own people – about anything. What really chaps my ass isn’t that they obviously take us for a bunch of cretins. What pisses me off is, by all appearances, they may well be right.
