Afghans Protest U.S. Operation [AP World News]

With the incredibly tight reigns the Bushies have put on the press in Afghanistan, it’s amazing we get any news at all, much less news of protests against the US. I suspect this is not an isolated incident. I also suspect we're lying. But with the censorship imposed by Washington, we may never find out for sure. Freedom of the press, my ass.

U.S.: Ashcroft Friend Lobbied For Client. 22:25 ET - AP [NewsBlip.com]

Apparently half naked statues are a major no-no for John “The Caveman” Ashcroft, but lying and cronyism are just fine. What a stupid, hypocritical, lying, superstitious asshole this putz is. In other words, he fits perfectly in the Dim Son’s White House.

Rumsfeld Moves to Strengthen His Grip on Military Intelligence. The defense secretary's effort to establish a new post for intelligence may set up a turf war for dominance over the U.S. intelligence community. By James Risen and Thom Shanker. [New York Times: NYT HomePage]

Seems a large part of Boy Blunder’s White House is made up of old re-treads from Poppy, Reagan and even as far back as Nixon. Apparently their major goal is to ram through various stupid ideas we were lucky enough to stop when Tricky Dicky, Bobo the President and Poppy tried them. Let’s make damn sure they fail now, too.

Backing Bush All the Way, Up to but Not Into Iraq. Even in conservative Scottsdale, Ariz., many residents argue against an American offensive. By Michael Janofsky. [New York Times: Politics]

Boy George has been working furiously to go from the most popular Prez in history to the least popular in record time. And why not?

He’s taken us from unprecedented economic growth to double dip recession in record time. He’s taken us from record surpluses to record deficits in no time. He's taken us into a whole new world of corproate  malfeasance mixed with White House toadying to Big Bidness.

Now he wants to drag us into an idiotic war to vindicate Poppy and supposedly take out the Anti-Christ. I shit you not. No wonder even his conservative support base is fleeing from him in record time.

The top 3 downloads you should avoid.. On FARK [News Is Free: Popular Items]

Not much here, but I did want to take a minute to point people, especially you newbies out there, to Cat Schwartz’s TechTV page. She always has helpful info for the novice and power user alike. Plus, 9 out of 10 geeks say they’d do her in a heartbeat. Thing is she’s smart enough to reject 99 out of 100 in a heartbeat.

AIDS prevention worker hands free condom to 13-year-old girl in a park playground. Hilarity ensues. On FARK [News Is Free: Popular Items]

Let’s see, the girl’s mother didn’t object. The girl *asked* for the condom. No harm, no foul. That’s the way the program is supposed to work. Why the hell is some Podunk KKKristian ultra right politico trying to make hay out of this non-issue? Well, they are idiots, you know.

Bush Will Travel to the 3 Sites to Commemorate Sept. 11. President Bush will travel to New York, Pennsylvania and the Pentagon on Sept. 11. By Elisabeth Bumiller. [New York Times: Politics]

Wouldn’t it be more appropriate if the Smirking Chimp hid like a wimpering baby all day, just like he did when it happened? Maybe he can release a commemorative picture of himself for GOP fund raising in front of the famous firefighter flag picture, too. Oh, wait. He already did that.

SBC seeks crackdown on credit risks [ZDNet Tech News]

Oh yeah, a whole, whopping million dollars out of billions in revenue? By all means, change the rules! Screw the consumer! After all, the corporate asswipes want it. No doubt the Bushies will find a way to give it to them.

Group Sues Dallas School District [AP Tech News]

This lawsuit is stupid on so many levels, it’s hard to know where to begin. First off, have these KKKristian asswipes never heard of separation of church and state? Second, any employer can limit net usage pretty much any way they want. There was a written policy. The superstitious half wit in question broke that policy. Boo-fucking-hoo-hoo.
