We're already talking about what to do for World Usability Day (the first day of DUX2005), and here comes another proposal for a day to celebrate:
Fair Use Day: July 11. Cory Doctorow: Fair Use Day is a modest project to create an international day to celebrate Fair Use (or, spending on your legal system, Fair Dealing), every July 11. . . Link (Thanks, Eric!) [Boing Boing]
It's on my calendar!

I've been fascinated by siege engines (catapults, trebuchets, and so on) since my teenage studies of things medieval. I just love pondering the mechanics of these things.
HOWTO build a siege engine at multiple sizes from different materials. Cory Doctorow: Trebuchet.com's HOWTO page includes links to plans for dozens of different home-made siege engines, from wooden tabletop models to easy-to-construct PVC pipe versions. . . Link (via Make Blog)

Now, what would the neighbors think if I had one in the back yard? Would the call DHS on me?
