You know, a 7.0 anywhere near California is cause to sit up and take notice. But hey, we've survived before, we'll survive a big one again. I only lost some glass in the Loma Prieta quake (which was downgraded to 6.9 from 7.1), and that was practically in my back yard. Yes, I can see the San Andreas fault from here. We moved north about 6 feet in 1989 (this side of the fault is on the Pacific Plate, which is moving north relative to the rest of California).
