Mediaburn Time Warp - March 18th, 2003 (Do We Know?)
Let's set the Mediaburn Time Machine to about 6 months ago...Captain's Log March 18, 2003. I'll call this entry "Do We Know?" It was about Bush leading our country into war. At the time, I felt things were being done by the seat of our pants. The planning in Washington was quite poor and the public was not informed.
I've got news. The Iraq war isn't over. It's ongoing. Wars that are over don't cost this much. The wounds and loss of life are unconscionable.
This is very serious business - war with no planning and with no disclosure to the public beforehand. Is there anything more serious? The public, and Congress, were not given ANY WAR PLANS. In some nations that might be okay, but it's not okay here. Forget the Democrats - get ready for the Republican onslaught.
From this weblog 6 months ago:
--- Does anyone find it odd that Bush declares the UN irrelevant, but at the same time, he is planning on UN involvement in the reconstruction of Iraq (so the American taxpayers don't have to pay all of the bills)?
Quite illogical. Let's fire this guy.
Or...maybe he does want the US to do everything? (see article below) His public statements have been quite different. So what is his position? Do we know? ---
