'You're not a child anymore'
9.22.2003, a link from the ancient past: Equinox (1975).

(America).........Red White and Blue, gaze at your looking glass
You're not a child anymore

Red White and Blue, the future is all but past

So lift up your heart, and make a new start
Lead us away from here.

Registered Nurses Supporting Governor Howard Dean M.D.
For a long time, I've had great admiration for Registered Nurses and the work they perform. Nurses supporting Howard Dean M.D. for President of the U.S. have launched a website at http://www.Nurses4Dean.com

- G.S.

Guest Writer: Melissa Schmidt, R.N..

Now is the time for all great nurses to come to the aid of their country! My name is Melissa Schmidt, R.N., and I founded Nurses for Dean after meeting the Governor in May of this year. Nurses For DeanAlong with Teri Mills, our aspiring National Nurse, our other two National Coordinators are Rene' Guerieri-Wood, and Our Humble Webmaster (who prefers, like all super-heroes, to keep her true identity a secret). The four of us are proud to announce that a Nurses for Dean website is now live at www.nurses4dean.com. We're hoping that you will tell every nurse, nursing student, potential nurse, friend or relative of a nurse, allied health professional, patient, or otherwise interested person about it. There are 2.7 million nurses in America, and we at Nurses for Dean believe every single one of them should be voting for Howard Dean. There are many reasons why, and for more in-depth information, please visit our web page.

Above all, nurses are advocates for our patients. Additionally, there is no issue more important to our citizens than ensuring access to basic and affordable healthcare. Howard Dean accomplished this in Vermont, and has a plan to do the same for the nation.

In addition to announcing our new web page, we hope you will make a contribution to www.deanforamerica.com/nationalnurse where nurses have joined hands across our great country to raise almost $3000 for Governor Dean's candidacy.

My colleagues and I are working together because we believe in Governor Dean's philosophy of being united by our common purpose, rather than being divided by those who would exploit our differences. We welcome all interested parties to join a National Nurse Corps to help us achieve our mission of electing Howard Dean to be the next President of the United States.

Bill Moyers interview with Jon Stewart. Stewart is not only a funny guy but also one of the most insightful critics of the news media. Moyers: "And what is the media doing to help us sort this out?" Stewart: "They sat this one out... They don't have time for journalism. They only have time for reporting. They only have time to be handed things and go, this is what I've just been handed by the administration." Check out the entire Bill Moyer's interview. [Hypergene MediaBlog]

Treasures in Tucson
Tucson repository has treasures. Don't be fooled by the drab exterior or the vague government moniker on the door: this new downtown building is a treasure-trove that rivals some of the nation's finer museums. [Arizona Daily Star: Front Page]
