Dean For Arizona Update
In this update:

* DNC debate in Arizona October 9th * Dean for America opens Arizona office * "DeanLink" organizing tool launched * Fundraising ideas

Dear Arizona Dean Supporter,

DNC Debate October 9th in Arizona

Arizona is hosting the next DNC national debate with all Democratic Presidential candidates at the Orpheum in downtown Phoenix. The Arizona Dean For America campaign is sponsoring a debate watching party on October 9th in the Ballroom at the Wyndham Hotel at First Street and Adams in downtown Phoenix. Governor Dean will visit us at the Wyndham after the debate (more information to follow).

Please go to http://www.DeanForAz.com to keep up with our Arizona activities. Encourage your friends and other Dean supporters to do the same and to visit www.DeanForAmerica.com to stay informed about the campaign.

Dean for America Opens Arizona Office

Governor Dean made his fifth trip to Arizona this past week to open the Arizona campaign office at 3105 N. 24th Street in Phoenix (602-954-5215 - available after 9/12). ( Mediaburn covered the event at: Pres. Candidate Dean Opens Campaign Office in Arizona. )

Dean for America Launches DeanLink

For your information, there is a great new organizing tool available at http://www.DeanLink.com - check it out. Finally, in a few days, Arizona Dean Team Leaders will begin receiving their lists of voters to contact on behalf of Governor Dean. Become an Arizona Dean Team Leader at www.DeanForAZ.com.

The following are great ideas from Cindy Cooke, Arizona Fundraising Coordinator

One of the best ways for you to help out the Dean campaign is to host a house party to spread the message about Governor Dean and raise funds for the campaign. We have two great upcoming opportunities:

* A house party primarily designed for Dean supporters who want to learn how to give them, to be held on September 29th (see details below) or * A Dean Birthday Bash held the weekend of November 14-17 (Dr. Dean's birthday is the 15th) Suggested donation $55 in honor of the 55th birthday.

You have total flexibility on when you would like to plan your party however, we are looking to host several parties throughout Arizona on Monday, September 29th which would include a conference call from candidate himself. These parties will be held in conjunction with parties throughout the country with the specific goals of raising a minimum of $500 per party and to provide information to other potential house party hosts so that momentum can be built in this important area of the campaign.

If you would like additional information or would like to host a party specifically on September 29th please contact Greg Faulhaber at gregfaulhaber@yahoo.com or Janet Sanford at jsanford1@cox.net.

You have the power! Yes you have the power to take this country back. Exercise your power by helping elect Governor Howard Dean to the Presidency of the United States.

9/10/03 - 'Osama bin Forgotten'
Florida Senator Bob Graham was right.

Osama bin Forgotten. As we see a new tape that shows Osama bin Laden very much alive and well, it is clear that our war on terror has taken a major detour in Iraq. Senator Graham was correct in his claim that the... [Blog Graham]

Planet Mars and Moon Photo from 101-365
Mars with the moon behind a tree:

20 seconds, f/11 with a 12mm lens on my new Nikon D100. Although the Canon won the noise testing (as Eric and Brian and all the reviews implied), the lenses, features and ergonomics of the Nikon won my heart... er, pocketbook. I did like the silky images from the Canon, but look at the above shot. It's orders of magnitude less noisy than the 950, and at ISO 1600 to boot! [101-365]

Some O.C. Comedy
A funny article about Fox's unreality show The O.C. Perhaps it's more "Dallas" than the show Dallas. To my knowledge, people call Orange County "O.C.", not "THE O.C." Of course there's lots of soap opera make-believe going on. I'll have to do some fact checking there (yeah right!) next time I visit.

Anyone remember the show Girls Club about a year or two ago? It was about three young San Francisco women in the law profession. The San Francisco portrayed was not at all like S.F. - or should I say THE S.F. If you don't remember the show, it's probably because you never saw it. Girls Club was cancelled almost immediately.

Dissed by "The O.C.". Fox's popular new teen drama wants to put me -- and everyone else in my town -- in the white trash bin. [Salon.com]
