While trying to remember the title of one of Edward Tufte's books I came across a work of his that I have not seen -- The Cognitive Style of Powerpoint. The cover photo makes visiting the site worthwhile.

Denim is a very interesting tool for the early stages of web site and user interface design from Berkeley.

Robert Putnam popularized the concept of social capital when he wrote Bowling Alone. Here he attempts to measure it and correlate it with other social welfare issues. An interesting note is the greatest predictor of the level social capital in the US is a location's distance from the Canadian border.

It would be difficult to draw conclusions from this work, but it is interesting stuff.
