After The GameRight now I'm enjoying a tasty Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest and relaxing. My son and I just got back from the Rutgers-Virginia Tech football game. Even though it was overcast and drizzling, we were looking forward to an enjoyable, but also sad, afternoon. This is probably the last time Rutgers will be playing the Hokies, since they're moving on to the ACC next year. VT, 4th ranked in the polls, has always been a class act in the Big East, unlike those crooks down in Miami. The league is going to miss them much more than the Hurricanes. Anyway, the game started out well enough with the Scarlet Knights capitalizing on a Tech turnover and drawing first blood. 7-0. Then the hammer dropped. By the end of the quarter it was 21-7 Virginia Tech. At the half it was 34-7. It could've been much worse but Frank Beammer showed some mercy by inserting Marcus Vick who proved, well, he's no Michael Vick. RU came back in the 4th quarter to make it an interesting game before VT put it away for a 49-22 win. We had great seats in the upper deck of Rutgers Stadium. Great view of the field and no lines at the concession stands. Interestingly, I noticed that at the souvenier stands Rutgers also sells Excedrin and Tylenol. Well, I guess you just have to understand what it's like to be a Rutgers football fan. They invented the game. They're still trying to figure out how to play it.
