This does not come as a surprise, Bush is a pathological liar.
CapitolHillBlue: "Within hours of the President's speech Thursday claiming his administration had prevented a major attack, sources who said they were current and retired intelligence pros from the CIA, NSA, FBI and military contacted Capitol Hill Blue with angry comments disputing the President's remarks.
'The President has cheapened the entire intelligence community by dragging us into his fantasy world,' says a longtime field operative of the Central Intelligence Agency. 'He is basing this absurd claim on the same discredited informant who told us Al Qaeda would attack selected financial institutions in New York and Washington.'"
'He's full of shit,' said one sharply-worded email."

America is governed by - excuse the word - assholes.

PrivacyDigest: "Some surveillance of your email has been permitted by U.S. District Judge Thomas Hogan in Washington, D.C., without first requiring any evidence of wrongdoing. Curiously: 'instead of asking to eavesdrop on the contents of the e-mail messages, which would require some evidence of wrongdoing, prosecutors [of the US Justice Dept.] instead requested the identities of the correspondents. Also included in the request was header information like date and time and Internet address - but not subject lines.'"

Xinhua: "U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney had directed his former top aide to leak classified material to discredit a critic of the Iraq war, The National Journal reported Friday."

TheNation: "Twenty-two members of the House have now signed on as co-sponors of the call by Representative John Conyers, D-Michigan, to establish a select committee of the Congress to investigate whether the Bush administration's actions before and after the invasion of Iraq violated Constitutional requirements, statutes and standards in a manner that would merit impeachment of the president or vice president."

NYTimes: "Michael D. Brown, the former federal emergency management chief who became a ridiculed symbol of the Bush administration's flawed response to Hurricane Katrina, returned in anger to Capitol Hill on Friday and lashed back at his former superiors.
Mr. Brown said that he told a senior White House official early on of the New Orleans flooding, and that the administration was too focused on terrorism to respond properly to natural disasters."

LATimes: "The Bush administration Friday laid out plans to sell off more than $1 billion in public lands over the next decade, including 85,000 acres of national forest land in California.
Most of the proceeds would help pay for rural schools and roads, making up for a federal subsidy that has been eliminated from President Bush's 2007 budget."

Peter Rost, M.D., former Vice President for the drug company Pfizer: "The U.S. Department of Labor claims we have an unemployment rate of 4.9%. According to the Economist, however, the true unemployment rate in the U.S. is over 8%, or 12.6 million Americans. The difference is due to the fact that the U.S. Government doesn't count people as unemployed after six months without a job.
Clearly the system we have today isn't just broke. The system is utterly and completely sick and our weakest citizens are paying the price, every day.
The American democracy has been stolen by our new class of Robber Barons, the CEOs of our big corporations. A political system dependent on charity from rich men in hand-tailored suits with $100 million retirement packages is no democracy. It is a kleptocracy. It is not what our founding fathers envisioned."

A man died after his insurance company refused to pay for this treatment.
This is the America of privatization and deregulation. It is the America George Bush and his cabal are creating. It is a world ruled by greedy hooligans, a world without humanity, compassion, freedom and democracy.
