Vive la France! and more...
12:13:21 PM

Instead of fighting the real danger, i.e. the Republican neocons, the Democrats are hitting at the green parties.
GreenParty: "Green Party leaders called on Congress to reject a House bill that combines public funding of congressional campaigns with a scheme to ban third party and independents from such races.
HR 4694 (Let the People Decide Clean Campaign Act) would grant nominees of parties (i.e. Democrats and Republicans) that had averaged 25% of the vote for House races in a given district in the last two elections, full public funding.
All others (i.e. third party and independent candidates) would be required to submit petitions signed by 10% of the last vote cast for partial funding, and 20% petitions for full funding.
Furthermore, candidates who don't qualify for funding would be barred from spending any privately raised money on their campaigns."

What is wrong with those democrats? And this at a moment when the environment is in danger!
Independent: "A crucial global warming 'tipping point' for the Earth, highlighted only last week by the British Government, has already been passed, with devastating consequences."

This is the way whole civilizations have crumbled in the past, because matters of power retention prevailed over the real demands of the crisis they were in and no solutions were sought.

SeattlePi: "Bush spent more than 90 minutes with House Republicans, gathered for a retreat at a resort on Maryland's Eastern Shore. He spoke near the midpoint of their three-day meeting, a blend of policy and politics that included the premiere of a tongue-in-cheek video modeled on Star Wars.
Shown to lawmakers on Thursday night, the video lampooned GOP political opponents as 'The evil Democrat empire'. California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic leader, was depicted as 'Darth Nancy'.

White House aides had arranged for only the first few minutes of the session to be open to reporters. But an apparent mistake left a microphone on for longer than anticipated.
In the interim, he said, 'I support the free press, let's just get them out of the room...'
'I want to share some thoughts with you before I answer your questions,' he went on to the Republican House members. 'First of all, I expect this conversation we're about to have to stay in the room. I know that's impossible in Washington.'
He then moved to a defense of the NSA program that allows wiretaps without court warrants as part of certain terrorist investigations.
'I wake up every morning thinking about a future attack, and therefore, a lot of my thinking, and a lot of the decisions I make are based upon the attack that hurt us,' Bush said."

A paranoiac president who sees the world as an episode of Star Wars, is a danger and a mockery.
And he is trying to indoctrinate American kids as well.
AlterNet: "Using cartoons, games and kid-friendly websites, the federal intelligence community is seeking to win the hearts and minds of America's children."

His preoccupation with war and destruction is sheer madness. President Eisenhower warned against this.

BBC: "An elderly couple who were separated for seven months by social services have been reunited."
I am so glad for them. So it helps to raise a stink, to stand up and protest.
