Why Does It Always Rain On Me? Part II
You would think with all the access to the most up-to-date information that I have at my fingertips via the Internet that I would check the weather forecast before driving off to San Antonio for a day of shopping. You would think that right? Well, you'd be wrong. The picture to the left testifies to my colossal stupidity on display today as I drove through torrential rain only to get to San Antonio and find that most of the things I wanted were not available.
Then I got to drive back through even worse weather.
Damn it, I live in the desert. This isn't supposed to happen. But then again, the last few years summer has been a time of flooding around here. For a week or so it will rain and rain, but then it'll go back to being 100 degrees everyday and not a cloud in sight for months. Mother Nature can be a real bitch sometimes.
Reminded me of the horrific weather my mom and I faced back in December. No tornados today, but we did see quite a bit of flooding. It even looked like barriers were about to be placed on the road at Batesville as we saw the water from a creek pouring over the highway. But all is safe and sound back in Eagle Pass, though I'll still need another trip back to finish up what didn't get fully accomplished today.
