Le Trip Is On

Well, I finally booked a seat on a bus tour of Paris for this Saturday.  I'd kept putting off going on one of the tours offered by the USO because I'd heard mixed reviews from people at work on them.  But most of the people I talked to agreed that I should at least try one of the tours to see if I liked it, plus this will give me a chance to visit Paris and give me a taste of the city before I venture back there on my own next Spring.

Here's the description of the tour I'm going on from the USO website:

Paris Museum Tour—
Louvre, Orsay, Napoleon’s Tomb
Saturday, November 15

Didn’t have enough time on your last Paris tour to visit the world-famous museums? Then join us on this express tour and indulge yourself in as much art and exhibits as you can. We arrive in Paris and begin the day with a nice breakfast (included) and freshen up period. Then it’s off to the museums. You will receive a day pass good for entrance into over 40 sights and museums in the city. You may stay with the group and visit the Louvre Museum to see the Mona Lisa and other great masterpieces. Next, the group will go to Napoleon’s Tomb, Rodin Museum, or the Museum of Arms and Armor (your choice, as they are all in the same area). From here it’s to the Orsay Museum, home of many more recent impressionist masterpieces. If you choose to visit other sights on your own, we’ll provide you with a map and directions to the subway. Note: There will also be a photo stop at the Eiffel Tower. Please bring euro for shopping and lunch and your passport or travel papers. We recommend U.S. (blue), EC, or Canadian passports. Travel documents are the responsibility of the customer. Tour price includes transportation, breakfast, museum entrance pass, and a USO tour guide.

Not bad for $89.

Only definite downside to going to Paris this weekend is that the weather is supposed to be le crap with plenty of rain.  But since this is a museum tour, I figure the rain can't hurt that much.  Just will mean dreary photos of the Eiffel Tower and whatnot.  Those photos should be posted here this coming Sunday if you have any desire to see them.

On a different front, thanks for all the sympathy I've received over my wounded testicle.  Things are slowly returning to normal down there and hopefully I'll be back to my usual dual-nut self soon.
