While I could go into detail about all that I did these past several days, I just don't have the time or energy to do so. But I will provide you with some of the highlights:
My long-awaited ticket to see Radiohead finally arrived at the hotel about two hours before the show was to begin. Needless to say I quickly ditched my other plans for the night and headed on over to Earls Court.
The concert itself was great. The place was packed to the ceiling with fans, though I was surprised that the crowd had more than its fair share of people older than myself. I didn't know Radiohead appealed to that demographic.
Here's a review of their concert earlier in the week in Manchester. Essentially the same show, but different city.
They played most of the songs any fan would want to hear, though I was disappointed that "Karma Police" and "Fake Plastic Trees" weren't performed. The later song being my favorite by Radiohead. Most of the songs they did crank out leaned toward the last few albums, especially Hail to the Thief.
Here are several pictures from the show. Just click on them to get a larger version:

The Radiohead show was Thanksgiving night. Friday night I went and saw the play Jumpers. I had very high hopes for this play, since the best play I've ever seen, The Real Thing, was written and directed by the same duo who put together Jumpers. Well, I still don't know how I feel about this show. It's definitely not for all tastes. If you're into the question of whether or not God exists, murder, and acrobats, then this is definitely the must see show for you. Plus it had several instances of nudity, if that happens to grease your wheels. Myself, I just couldn't fully get into it. I appreciate what it was trying to do and what it was trying to get the audience to question in their own lives, but I just wanted to be purely entertained that night, and I don't feel I was.
Saturday I got the chance to finally see an English Premiere League football match in person. I witnessed the match between Charlton Athletic and Leeds United. It was a cold, wet afternoon going into early evening, and the home team lost 1-0, but I still had a reasonably good time. Not having a vested interest in either team allowed me to just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere. Some fans around me, though, very obviously felt the game was a matter of life and death. One fan two rows behind me felt it was even more important than that, hurling abuse down on the players and the ref and questioning their vision, hearts, mental stability, and parentage. Very interesting day, overall. I'll write more about it either tomorrow or Tuesday.
Other highlights of the week were a trip to Harrods to do a little shopping (eat your hearts out Pablo and Julie) and a visit to the Museum of London. If you have any desire to buy a silver-plated set of toothpicks, do the former. If you want to know everything there is to know about London from 500,000 years ago up until yesterday, go to the museum. Both were well worth the trip out to see them.
I took lots of pictures again this trip, but I don't have time right this minute to organize and post them to the gallery, but I will get to that tomorrow or Tuesday.
For now I'm just glad to be home so I can get myself ready for these last few weeks before Christmas vacation kicks in. As great as London is, I'm actually looking forward to seeing the wee town of Eagle Pass, Texas again.
