You Can't Handle The Truth
This is getting silly. First you had those Swift Boat Veterans for Truth who spewed one lie after another. Didn't take long for people to comb through those Swift Boaters' records and find that they never did what they claimed to do with Kerry in Vietnam. I wish their was a group called Swift Boat Veterans for Shame.
Then there came the Cheerleaders For Truth, probing whether or not Bush actually served as a cheerleader at Yale. Of course it's a parody site, but an amusing one.
Now we have Texans for Truth, which is broadcasting an ad featuring Robert Mintz, who was at the 187th Alabama Air National Guard when Bush claims to have been there. He says he never saw Bush and that "it would be impossible to be unseen in a unit of that size."
This is all so sad. This is what the choosing of the most powerful person in the world has lowered itself to. Just think that fifty years from now, high school students will read a few paragraphs in their history etext about how the 2004 Presidential election was dominated by special interest groups shouting that their Truth was more truthful than any other "Truth."
Embarrassing, really.
