Jim's Pond - Exploring the Universe of Ideas
"Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. It is as when a conflagration has broken out in a great city, and no man knows what is safe, or where it will end." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Back to the Hill

I've overcome my fear of snakes and for the past two weeks I've been taking the boys on walks up the hill again. The temperature has cooled significantly and the chance of running into rattlers is greatly reduced. Today I took two hours and reached a level about 1800 feet above my home. The air was cool. And, because I went early, I was able to watch the sun rise. I also got a few pictures with my HP 850.

It's good to be back hiking. I'm out of shape. The summer was hotter and busier than I thought it would be. I didn't exercise as much as I had during the cooler weather earlier this year. For the first time in my life I am looking forward to winter and my walks in the woods..........
