"Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. It is as when a conflagration has broken out in a great city, and no man knows what is safe, or where it will end." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Lightning Round

Utah wants to take away water rights? What's next?

Did you hear the Gray Davis quote? When asked about diversity in California, Davis said that he wants California to be the "most diverse state in the world." He went on to say that California should have "people from every planet" living there. And they say Gray Davis doesn't have a personality. Hello. Earth to Gray.

I'm thinking of starting a PAC. Utahns for Gray. California elected him. They should live with him for another three years. Besides, he's good for comic relief.

On the plane yesterday the passenger in the window seat was exhibiting some suspicious behavior. He had binoculars and a camcorder. He was constantly looking and recording out the window. He looked to be of middle eastern decent. I wondered. Am I paranoid or what?

What did you think of Howard Dean's idea to end the war in Iraq and use the money to bail out states with fiscal problems? Hmmmm. Let me get this straight. Utah politicians show some restraint and sound financial management, thus setting up the people of Utah to help bail out California. Ouch! That would hurt.

Speaking of the plane ride. Way to go Delta. We got to DC 20 minutes early. By the time I got to baggage claim my checked luggage had arrived. My uncle was there at the carousel to get me and we left National within the 20 minute grace period avoiding having to pay for parking. Smooth.

By the way, nobody here is talking Cougar football. Go Terps.

Isabelle tore the roof off my uncle's townhouse. Well, at least a section over the corner bedroom upstairs. I checked it out when we arrived last night. Awesome and strange.

Art got his money's worth for picking me up at the airport. He was finishing a job and told me we had to spend and hour or so back at the site. That was at about 4:30. We finished up at midnight. I did the cross-connects while Art watched.

Standing in line to purchase my Big Gulp yesterday I was stalled behind a nice gentleman playing the lottery. If you can't figure out the winners from the losers should you be playing?

And finally,

Does anyone remember when the Big Gulp was the biggest drink available? It was 32 oz. of liquid enjoyment that should last all day. And now it's the second to the smallest drink you can by at 7 Eleven. Whew, can you say bladder buster?........
