The Nano Science and Technology Institute's Nanotech 2004 trade show reveals that the U.S. government, among others, expects to spend billions on nanotech research in coming years.

I have been thinking about Nano tech and Bio tech lately. It seems to me that the Genie is out of the bottle and that we need to fight fire with fire. Maybe we need to move forward and design bacteria and other organisms that destroy pollution....because pollution does not seem to be easing up, it is becoming a bigger problem. It is a choice between not playing with fire - i.e. not allowing the design of custom bacteria for example - and watching the air get worse and worse, or taking the plunge into a very uncertain future and finding a possible improvement, even though that will undoubtedly bring with it new dangers.....

We should have Transit CDs 4 sale by next week
A picture named Transit.jpg
Jon's album is overdue and should arrive in Santa Fe any day now.

Of course there will be more info and two extra tracks waiting for you at a link printed on the album.

We have also created a special PDF file of the cover art for those of you who might buy the "Transit" CD and copy it for a friend.

Here is how that will work:
You go to our shopping site where you will find an item called Transit Donation. You buy that item and we will send you an email with a link where you can download the PDF cover. You print out the cover and stick into your CD copy's jewel case.

The Dutch division of Orange, the European wireless provider, has a ingenious free bike promotion for new subscribers of a two-year service contract. By accepting the 30 euros (~$38.24) a month plan, subscribers get a bike with an integrated cradle that actually charges the handset while they ride, as well as a phone with a Bluetooth connection to allow use of the bundled wireless headset for completely hands-free communication. Considering the number of Dutch commuters that use bicycles (almost one-fourth of the workforce), this sort of promotion can make everyone happy: eco-friendly power with a greater degree of safety for the riders. It doesn't get much better than that.
Combining commute, excercise, and communication - it doesn't get much better than that! And check out the accessories....
Thanks Ole.
