Saddle
Does the saddle being offset on the G string really help with bettering the tone? I notice Lester doing this more and more on his newer guitars. I was just in Madrid and visited all the tallers like Pedro de Miguel, Ramirez, Conde etc..and they didnt seem to buy this idea. - Wil • 3/24/04; 2:34:53 PM
I do not know whether the G-string offset is the reason Lester's guitars are so very in-tune. I don't think that offset is anything new either, because I have seen many classical guitars using the same technique. Lester maintains an unbelievable level of craftsmanship, which is the reason why Paco and Vicente have several of Lester's guitars - in fact I believe Vicente has almost half a dozen DeVoes.

Also called the Hidden Jews of New Mexico. A little history lesson. I read about this years ago in the New Mexican newspaper. Above link is to an article in the Atlantic Monthly, here is a book review, and here is another link.
