Another day in Paradise
Steve Sloan's weblog. A bit tech, a bit bikes, a bit family, a bit friends, a bit yoga, a bit photo, a bit trains, and a bit fun. Eight bits; that's a byte!

At the doctor's office
GEEKBLOG:
I am waiting and alternating between reading and writing on mya Palm Pilot. This is the Palm Pilot that refuses to die. It is an old Palm IIIx and it just keeps going. I have had several Palms and in the past they didn't last more than 2 years (my first was from US Robotics). This one is a 3 Com, and it keeps chugging.

PERSONALBLOG:
Kenneth and I are spending the day together going to various appointments. He is such a great young man. I really enjoy his company. He is very smart and has a memory I envy. He and I have been watching baseball games together. That has been fun. We have a lot in common.

Yesterday I had lunch with Jeff. He and I switched cars. He drove my Accord home and worked on thr brakes. He does great work. They are working very well now. We had a pleasant lunch.

Driving his car home was an adventure. It likes to go one speed, fast! It does not like stop and go traffic. At one point I had to merge into fast moving traffic. It was at a spot that always makes me nervous with my Accord. With Jeff's Civic I was up to speed in nothing flat.

Yesterday was our whine and dine mountain bike ride. We had a fun ride. About a dozen people were on the ride. It was grey and chilly. There was some mud on the hill. But, we beat the rain and had a good ride. It is the first time in three weeks the ride was not cancelled due to rain. We had a fun after ride meal. It is a very social ride.

After the ride I went to Jeff and Nicole's home to pick up the Accord. There was no traffic this time and I was able to let the Civic unwind. Jeff was out when I got there so I visited with Nicole. She had just completed a Christmas tree skirt based on Candy's design. Nicole did a great job on it. Jeff got there soon and we traded cars. He did a great job. The Accord is running great. Except, Jeff says, it doesn't have enough power. He suggested an engine swap.
