IT'S OVER

Man, there's such finality to that statement.  Yes, it's true, my junior year at this university is in the books (punny?).  I'll have more reflections on the ultimate life meaning of this later.  First, a wrap-up of today.

I had two finals, both of which went reasonably well, nothing spectacular but not harsh either.  Probably keeping my grade around the same as it was beforehand.  I was pretty upset with myself walking back from my logic final when I realized I screwed up two derivations by getting the denying the consequent rule wrong.  (Denying the consequent means you conclude the negation of the antecedent of a conditional sentence; I kept concluding the antecedent itself.)  I was stuck on both derivations because I couldn't find how I could go farther, turns out I made the same mistake on both.

If you saw someone skipping past the main library slapping his hands together and looking heavenward, that was probably me (as it was about this point when I realized my folly.)

Anyway, twas not catastrophic, so no sense in dwelling on that.

I'm leaving for home early tomorrow morning; will try to tie together the loose ends from this year when I get there.

Forgot to mention.

The Oscar Meyer Weiner-mobile passed me by yesterday evening while I was walking on 3rd Street.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Off to take my next-to-last final now.

Two more tests tomrrow, then I'm done.  Down to almost 12 hours now.

I have an Indy update for you, and that'll be all for tonight, as far as I know.  I'm not really sure what my posts are going to look like over the summer.  I've never blogged after having been away from the "rest of the world" for an extended period of time.  I'd imagine I'll be quite a bit more laid back in tone, and a lot less melancholy.  We'll see.  I'd like to do some "serious" writing, for once, I'm holding you to hold me to it.  :-) Links will probably be less, since I'm on a dialup and will have to greatly maximize my web efficiency.  Plus I actually do "other" things at home besides sit here.  I still don't have any friends, of course, but I do have a big ol' Indiana countryside to interact with.

Another newcomer was top of the charts in day three of practice.  Dan Wheldon, the first Briton in quite a few years to attempt the 500, sailed to over 231 MPH shortly after practice opened this morning.

Six other drivers were also over 230 MPH.

Day 3 Speeds, the full list.
