Celebrity atheists

If you cared to know.

Myself, I'm skeptical (pun intended) that celebrties are any more enlightened than the rest of us concerning the existence or non-existence of a deity.

Their definition of "atheist" seems a little ambiguous too.

Some sad news

In case you've missed it, the governor of Indiana, Frank O'Bannon , is gravely ill in a Chicago hospital after an apparent stroke.  The Lt. Gov. has temporarily assumed the governorship.

I'm sure your prayers would be welcomed.

Laundry night

*ka-thunk*

Now's probably not the best time to double-check that I've packed all the laundry necessities.  But that's ok, I'm fairly certain I have them all.

Picked up the newly released Best Newspaper Writing 2003 from Poynter and need to have a good heart-to-heart with it.

The Guardian knows its ABC's

...as in Anything But Christians, referrenced in a sports story no less.

In a country where Christian fundamentalists demand a literal interpretation of creation, it has only to rain for a couple of days in the final week at this grand slam for Darwinism to impose itself

OK, granted that it's really not a big deal at all, and funny in a ticklish sort of way, but seriously, imagine that being written about another national/religous group and get the same ticklish response.

Don't think that's gonna happen...
