Isabel approacheth I like watching hurricane news; of course, I'm sure I would have a different perspective if I weren't protected by the well-inland outpost of Indiana. Even though Isabel has weakened to a Category 2, authorities are sending out foreboding signals.
I found this (non-hurricane related) bit to be interesting in that story:
The American Red Cross is warning that its Disaster Relief Fund is empty. The relief organization says coastal residents can still depend on it to provide food, clothing, shelter and medication replacement. But unless donations start pouring in, the Red Cross won't be able to provide financial assistance to hurricane victims.
I wonder if that happens often. More

Gee whiz... "As the door turns on its hinges, so does the sluggard on his bed." -Proverbs 26:14
It's finally dawned on me that I need to cave and start keeping a day planner. I completely dropped the ball again yesterday in my newspaper reporting class and forgot to do the story critiques that were due. I remembered that I needed to do an audience survey for my beat this semester (which I did) but I completely forgot about those critiques. I really wanted to hit something ( or someone) after that; it's just unbecoming to be disorganized that way.
For my reward, I'm going to do my public speaking assignment today on my sluggard ways.
