Language I was walking by the parking garage on campus here today and wondered, being the purveyer of practical linguistics that I am, why the term "parking garage?" Is there a kind of garage that's particularly useful for anything else besides storing cars? I suppose it's possible, but I still hold that the term "parking garage" is a redundant term.. In fact, it should be completely destroyed <g>.
Hopefully seeing Over the Rhine later on tonight, though any help I might have hoped for isn't going to materialize. Looks like I'm on my own, as usual.
Speaking of which, the Friday Five is all about vehicles this week. Kinda ironic for me, isn't it? <g>
