The sound of your voice Why does one's voice have such a different tonal quality when you hear yourself speaking from when you hear a pre-recorded version of yourself?
At least it seems that way to me. My voice seems quite tolerable when I'm speaking aloud, but sounds thin and high-pitched whenever I hear it played back to me. Is this the way other people hear it? I hope not, since frankly if that were the case I wouldn't be able to stomach listening to myself for more than a few seconds before I think that gnawing my own leg off might be a better way to spend my time...(gratuitous H*R referrence, check.)
Does anyone else feel this way? It's one thing to think your voice sounds poor, and another to realize that you sound fundamentally different to others than you think you do.

<---- The friendly blogs section on the sidebar here (my right, your left) is taking some temporary downtime while I do a little housecleaning.
It shall return shortly.
